Position Summary
Reporting to the Global Supply Chain Director of LiquidStack, this role will be supporting an interdisciplinary team to ensure timely and efficient procurement of materials, parts, and supplies. This includes tracking, sourcing, negotiating with suppliers, and maintaining records of all transactions for production and operation requirements. The individual must communicate with internal departments and external vendors throughout the procurement and product delivery cycle. We are looking for a driven Purchasing Coordinator that is passionate about this profession and wants to be a member on one of the world’s global leaders in liquid cooling for data centers, edge, and high-performance computing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Interacts with vendors to obtain quotes, resolve invoice discrepancies, challenge price increases, and build vendor relations.
- Conducts product research and sources inventory with new or existing suppliers and vendors.
- Performs inventory inspections.
- Reorders supplies.
- Inspects stocks and reports any faulty items or inconsistencies as required.
- Follows up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and documentation.
- Follows up on rescheduled or delayed orders and communicate issues with project managers.
- Tracks and analyzes ongoing performances of supply costs, delivery, and product quality.
- Creates Purchase Orders and allocates product costs to projects in the web-based accounting system.
- Updates and maintains records of all orders, payments, and received stocks.
- Updates purchase orders including pricing and lead times via order acknowledgments provided by vendors.
- Actively participates in Safety, health & environment program to ensure a high standard of workplace safety.
- Acts in a manner consistent with LiquidStack’s core values and according to LiquidStack’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethical Behavior.
- Complies with standards and procedures of LiquidStack’s health and safety manual and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- 4-year bachelor’s degree in Business/Supply Chain Management or other related discipline required.
- 2+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong negotiating skills.
- Proficient knowledge in MS office suite and experience with ERP/MRP systems is required.
- Professional and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Six Sigma certification (green belt, black belt, or master black belt) is an asset.
- Spanish basic language skills are preferred.
- Knowledge in shipping courier services like FedEx, DHL, UPS would be an asset.
- Self-starter that can be hands-on and work independently.
- Must have strong planning, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to prioritize tasks and keep critical deadlines.
- Attention to detail with the ability to see the bigger picture.
- Multicultural approach, comfortable working with diverse cultures and mind-sets.
- Appreciation to work in a global organization with teammates in different time zones/regions.
Special Conditions of Employment
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically up to 15% of the time, with some international travel possible.
- Valid passport & driver’s license with no infractions that would limit ability to travel.
