Quality Technician

Position Summary

Reporting to the Quality Manager, this role will inspect components, create test protocols, and perform final testing to ensure the quality and functionality of our liquid cooling products. This will involve working with the Quality Manager to develop and implement procedures on the production floor, and write final test reports. The individual will learn about a variety of new technologies which can shape the data center industry for decades to come. We are looking for a driven Quality-focused individual that is passionate about this profession and wants to be a team leader on one of the world’s global leaders in liquid cooling for data centers, edge, and high-performance computing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the engineering team and the Quality/Regulatory Manager to develop test  cases for liquid cooling products in accordance with the product quality control plan and compliance requirements.
  • Performs product testing, documents test results and suggests solutions.
  • Able to build inspection documents and checklists that will support ongoing quality programs for current and new product lines, service requests, and continuing customer support.
  • Troubleshoots issues and feeds continuous improvement initiatives into the Quality Management System (QMS) for ongoing implementation.
  • Analyzes test results, detects issues to trace root causes by using appropriate engineering tools such as 8D and/or 3A.
  • Researches and conducts product and component testing with multiple modes and functions.
  • Provides quality support and/or training to the production team as needed.
  • Inspects raw materials, electro-mechanical devices and electrical devices or conduits to identify defects and malfunctions.
  • Actively participates in Safety, health & environment programs to ensure a high standard of workplace safety.
  • Acts in a manner consistent with LiquidStack’s core values and according to LiquidStack’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethical Behavior.
  • Complies with standards and procedures of LiquidStack’s health and safety manual and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • High school diploma, GED and/or or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Quality inspection environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings, electrical schematics, gerber files, testing protocols, supplier datasheets, production instructions, bills of materials, and quality specifications.
  • Familiar with inspection and measurement tools such as pressure gauges, flow meters, thermocouples, microscopes, multimeters, 3D Scanners, ground bond testers, oscilloscopes and hi-pot testers.
  • Extensive experience in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), LabVIEW and other controller-based testing.
  • Knowledge of electrical connection testings, wire tracing, ground bond testings, continuity checks, electrical troubleshooting, controller testings and parameter adjustments.
  • Strong experience with using basic visual and hand inspection methods including magnifying glass, calipers, height gauges, micrometers, rulers and feeler gauges.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to see the bigger picture.
  • Must have strong planning, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to prioritize competing tasks and keeping to critical deadlines.
  • Self-starter that can be hands-on and able to work independently.
  • Multicultural approach, comfortable working with diverse cultures and mind-sets.
  • Appreciation to work in a global organization with teammates in different time zones/regions.
  • Spanish basic language skills are preferred.
  • Ability to create documents/test reports in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Special Conditions of Employment

  • Willingness and ability to travel globally up to 5% of the time.
  • Valid US passport (in-hand) and driver’s license with no infractions that would limit ability to travel.
